Greater Lawrence Technical School Invites Community to Attend Open House

Guests to Learn More about New Programming, Field Renovations and More 

ANDOVER — Superintendent John Lavoie would like to invite community members to Greater Lawrence Technical School’s open house at the beginning of next month.

WHEN:

Sunday, Nov. 5 from 12-2 p.m.

WHERE:

Greater Lawrence Technical School, 57 River Road, Andover

WHAT:

Incoming freshmen, their parents, alumni and community members are encouraged to attend GLTS’ open house next month to learn more about career paths, academics, clubs, activities and more. Guests will also have a chance to see the school’s state-of-the-art football field and track, and find out more about plans for a new baseball/softball field, a multipurpose field and a frisbee golf course.

Information will also be available about the school’s new innovative programming in:

• Science Technology Engineering Arts Math (STEAM)
• Horiculture
• Medical Assisting

Attendees who would like to visit a specific shop or check out the different areas of the school are free to take a self-guided tour of the building.

“Our open house is a great way for middle school students who are thinking about their future career path to come and find out how GLTS can help them accomplish their goals,” Superintendent Lavoie said. “We are excited to share with you our new STEAM Innovation Academy that has been developed and implemented with an educational partnership with MIT. Within these programs, students will learn how to apply advanced academics to solve real world engineering problems, which will prepare them for the STEM jobs of the future.”
