Easton Police Arrest Two After Nearly Eight-Hour Standoff
EASTON — Chief Gary F. Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department has arrested two people after an hours-long standoff at a residence in town.
A 25-YEAR-OLD EASTON MAN was arrested on charges lodged by the North Attleboro Police Department related to domestic violence.
On Monday, Oct. 16, at approximately 12 a.m., the North Attleboro Police Department informed Easton Police that they were looking for the 25-YEAR-OLD MALE suspect on a domestic assault charge and had reason to believe that he was traveling to Easton with friends.
After an initial investigation, Easton Police were able to locate the man at a residence on Old Foundry Street and learned that he was inside the home with an unconfirmed number of people. The investigation strongly indicated that the suspect and other people inside the house may be unlawfully armed with firearms, and out of an abundance of caution, the MetroLEC SWAT and K-9 Teams were called to the scene.
At approximately 2 a.m., Easton Police, along with MetroLEC units and the Massachusetts State Police, surrounded the home and attempted to make contact with the occupants. Over a period of approximately eight hours, everyone who was inside exited the home without incident.
As a result of this incident, one of the occupants, JORDAN CREECH, AGE 22, OF BOSTON, was arrested on a warrant out of Stoughton District Court on an unrelated charge.
Police are still on scene searching the house for weapons. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
Further details about the suspect cannot be released by the Easton Police Department due to the Domestic Violence Act of 2014. All further media inquiries should be directed to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
