Arlington For All Ages 5K Raises More Than $17,000 for Senior Programs
ARLINGTON — The Arlington Council on Aging is pleased to announce that the annual Arlington For All Ages 5K Race raised more than $17,000 to support programs and services that benefit Arlington senior citizens.
The race, which was held on Sunday, Sept. 10, drew approximately 350 runners and more than 50 sponsors and donors. Runners began at the Arlington Town Hall and completed the race at the Arlington Senior Center. Food was provided by Chilly Cow, Za, Andrina’s and Papa Gino’s.
“With more than 350 runners, 50 sponsors and over 60 volunteers who made this day possible, this was a true community collaboration to help support programs for seniors who are some of our most vulnerable residents,” said Susan Carp, Executive Director of the Council on Aging. “We are thankful for another successful race and hope everyone will join us again next year!”
With more than 11,000 senior residents, Arlington has a higher percentage of seniors than both the state and national averages.
