Great Barrington Police Arrest Two for Larceny
GREAT BARRINGTON — Chief William Walsh Jr. reports that the Great Barrington Police Department arrested a man and a woman earlier this week for larceny.
AMANDA L. KANE, AGE 28, OF GREAT BARRINGTON and SHAWN M. KEEFNER, AGE 28, OF GREAT BARRINGTON were arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250.
On the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 16, an employee of Carr Hardware, 256 Main St., reported that approximately $800 worth of power equipment had been stolen from the store.
After an investigation, Officer Kristopher Balestro obtained arrest warrants for KANE and KEEFNER, who entered the store again on Aug. 23 around 12:30 p.m. Employees called police and KEEFNER was taken into custody without incident. KANE fled the store before police arrived but was arrested a short time later on Rosseter Street.
Officers James Bragdon, Olivia Cobb, Samuel Stolzar and Timothy Ullrich assisted in the arrests.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
