Reading Police Department Participates in Torch Run Cruiser Convoy To Benefit Special Olympics of Massachusetts

READING — Chief Mark D. Segalla is pleased to announce that the Reading Police Department participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Cruiser Convoy to benefit the Special Olympics of Massachusetts this past weekend.

On Friday, June 9, Reading police recruits Zachary Fontes and Benjamin Woodward participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

On Saturday, June 10, Deputy Chief David Clark and his family joined the Cruiser Convoy, where over 100 police departments across Massachusetts traveled in unison with their lights and sirens activated to the Special Olympics Summer Games at Harvard University. There, Deputy Chief Clark and fellow officers celebrated with the athletes and their families and congratulated them on their performances.

“The Special Olympics of Massachusetts is an exceptional organization and being a part of the Torch Run and Cruiser Convoy meant a great deal to us,” Chief Segalla said. “I’m proud of our department’s representatives who came out in support and look forward to participating in these events for years to come.”
