Randolph Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team, the Environmental Police and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC), resumed their search for 16-year-old Christopher Defreitas in and around the Randolph Reservoir this morning. Defreitas was reported missing on Monday evening.
The search being conducted today is primarily water-based. The Massachusetts State Police Dive Team and the Environmental Police are using boats and specialized equipment to search the Great Pond and Reservoir, and MetroLEC has a command post established to coordinate search efforts. Randolph Police Detectives are in the process of conducting interviews.
Though the search was called off yesterday evening due to weather conditions, police maintained an active presence in the area overnight. Despite the weather making search efforts difficult, police will continue their search throughout the day today and provide updates as they occur.
