Melrose Police Department to Host Coffee with A Cop Event

MELROSE — Chief Michael Lyle announces that the Melrose Police Department will host a Coffee with a Cop event as part of its April community meeting initiative.

The event will be held on Wednesday, April 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Bruegger’s Bagels, 496 Main St.

Members of the Melrose Police Department will be available to speak to residents on a topic of their choosing.

An initiative implemented throughout cities and towns nationwide, Coffee with a Cop is designed to provide a welcoming environment for residents to meet police officers and talk about what’s going on in their community.

This event is part of the department’s monthly community meetings initiative, where police and other city and state officials gather to discuss prevalent topics with members of the community.

“Every month, our goal is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about a topic or issue affecting this city,” Chief Lyle said. “In April, we wanted to give residents the opportunity to pick the topic and ask questions, share concerns, or simply have a friendly conversation with the members of the Melrose Police Department.”
