Tyngsborough Police Searching for Pharmacy Robbery Suspects
TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department is actively searching for two suspects allegedly involved in the robbery of a local pharmacy this morning.
On Saturday, April 1 at approximately 5:56 a.m., Tyngsborough Police received a 911 call reporting a breaking and entering in progress at the Tyngsborough Family Pharmacy, located at 138 Middlesex Road.
The caller also reported that the suspects left the area heading north on Middlesex Road driving a gray pickup truck with a yellow strobe light on the roof.
An officer who was in the area observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle traveling north on Middlesex Road. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by two males. Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop, but when the driver failed to stop, a pursuit ensued.
Police pursued the suspect vehicle onto Westford Road and then onto Route 3 northbound where the pursuit was ultimately terminated at the New Hampshire state line due to concerns for public safety.
The suspect vehicle is described as a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck with chrome wheel rims, a yellow strobe light on the roof and Florida license plates containing the letters D and X.
An undisclosed amount of pharmaceuticals were stolen. This incident remains under active investigation and police are not releasing any specific information at this time.
Tyngsborough Police believe this incident may be related to a similar break-in that occurred recently in a nearby community.
Anyone with additional information about the incident or the suspect vehicle should immediately contact Tyngsborough Police at 978-649-7504 and ask for Detective Sergeant Cynthia Shay or Detective Peter Kullusich, or press nine to leave an anonymous tip.
