Woburn Police Arrest Men for Drug Distribution, Trafficking
WOBURN — Chief Robert Ferullo reports that the Woburn Police Department Drug Unit, members of the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force (S.M.R.D.T.F.) and Woburn Police Department Drug Unit arrested two men for distributing and trafficking drugs this week. These suspects had ties to an address that has been the site of numerous drug overdoses over the past several months.
ANTHONY CATINAZZO, AGE 37, OF WOBURN is charged with:
- Distributing a Class B Drug (Fentanyl)
WILMER TEJEDA, AGE 24, OF JAMAICA PLAIN is charged with:
- Distributing a Class B Drug (Fentanyl)
- Trafficking in Fentanyl (Over 10 grams)
On Thursday, Feb. 16, as part of an ongoing drug investigation, officers initiated surveillance and observed that TEJEDA and CATINAZZO were involved in illegal drug activity.
Additionally, CATINAZZO is known to the Woburn Police Department and S.M.R.D.T.F.
After observing a transaction detectives executed a motor vehicle stop a short distance away and placed TEJEDA under arrest, police recovered approximately 19.6 grams of fentanyl on TEJEDA’s person.
CATINAZZO was arrested a short time later at his Hudson Place apartment, which is known to first responders as the site of numerous previous opioid overdoses going back over a year.
Chief Ferullo wishes to acknowledge the work of Woburn Detectives and regional law enforcement partners, including Woburn Police Department Detective Sergeant Brain McManus, who was instrumental in this investigation.
“This was a significant arrest for the City of Woburn, as it has removed two major drug dealers from our streets and put a stop to drug activity in a city neighborhood,” Chief Ferullo said. “I want to commend Woburn Police Detectives, the Drug Unit, and S.M.R.D.T.F. for their continued work on this case.”
Both suspects were booked and held at the Woburn Police Department pending their arraignment at Woburn District Court.
The investigation remains open and ongoing.
