Video: Methuen Police Investigating Armed Home Invasion
METHUEN — Mayor Stephen Zanni and Chief Joseph E. Solomon report that the Methuen Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance as detectives investigate an armed home invasion that occurred Saturday night.
On Saturday February 11, 2017 at approximately 9:05 pm, police responded to 14 Kirk St for a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers learned that the incident had taken place approximately 1.5 hours earlier at 7:30 pm.
The resident told police that three masked men knocked on the door of the home looking for a specific male resident. According to the victim, when the suspects learned that the resident was not home they forced their way into the apartment. One of the suspects allegedly brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim’s head. The suspects demanded to know where the particular male’s room was and once shown they ransacked the room.
The suspects then fled the apartment with an undetermined amount of cash and other items.
The suspect with the handgun was described as a 5’6″ male with bushy hair wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The other two suspects were described as males, about 6-feet tall. All the males had large winter coats on.
Police believe that the suspects fled in a grey Kia Soul or similar subcompact crossover vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Methuen Police Deptartment at 978-983-8675 or Detective Keith Frost 978-983-8709.
