Ten Melrose Middle School Students Qualify for Regional Finals of the National History Bee
MELROSE — Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Principal Brent Conway is pleased to announce that all 10 students who took the National History Bee qualifying test have made it to the regional finals.
Eighth graders Eli Champoux, Alec Degraaf, Ella Fleming, Matthew Frawley, Dan Freed, Alex Germain, Thomas McAndrews, Xavier Meade-Kelly and Daniel Urchuk, along with seventh grader Jonathan Wright took the test in December and are all eligible to participate in the next step of the competition.
Boston’s National History Bee’s Regional Finals will be held at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School on Saturday, April 8, from 2-5:15 p.m.
Participant will compete in three rounds of a buzzer format event that tests their knowledge of a wide range of topics in the social studies curriculum to determine regional champions and national qualifiers.
“I’m proud of the students that made it this far in the competition,” Principal Conway said. “This was a very complicated test that shows how intelligent and knowledgeable our students are, and I hope they continue to succeed, inside and outside of the event.”
More information about the regional finals can be found on the National History Bee website: historybee.com.
