Methuen Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries
METHUEN — Mayor Stephen Zanni and Chief Joseph E. Solomon report that the Methuen Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred this morning where multiple people were injured.
On Sunday, January 22, at approximately 3:08 a.m., Methuen Police responded to a single car crash in the area of 125 Milk St.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the operator, A FEMALE, AGE 29 OF PEABODY, was operating a 2001 Honda, traveling northbound on Milk Street, when her vehicle left the travel lane and proceeded onto the right shoulder and sidewalk, subsequently colliding with a telephone pole.
The vehicle sustained serious damage. The operator was transported to the Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the crash, there were three occupants in the vehicle.
The front seat passenger, A FEMALE, AGE 28, OF PEABODY was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with life-threatening injuries.
One of the backseat passengers, A FEMALE, AGE 29, OF METHUEN was transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other backseat passenger, A FEMALE, AGE 23, OF WATERBURY, CONN. was transported to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, where she was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by Methuen Police Officer Frank Lascola and Capt. Randy Haggar with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
