ROCHESTER, N.H. — Chief Norman Sanborn reports that the Rochester Fire Department extinguished a small fire at a local bank today.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Ladder Truck 1, Engine 3, Engine 5, Chief 2, and Chief 3 responded to Citizens Bank, 48 Portland St., for a report of a fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a small fire in the teller area of the bank, which was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.

“I commend today’s crew for making quick work of this fire,” Chief Sanborn said. “We at Rochester Fire are committed to the safety and security of not only our residents, but also those who work in our community. I am pleased at how our firefighters handled this situation today.”
