METHUEN– Chief Joseph E. Solomon and Mayor Steve Zanni report that the Methuen Police Department is searching for four suspects allegedly involved in a burglary at a Chelmsford Street home yesterday.
Just before 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, officers responded to a panic alarm caused by a break-in at a Chelmsford Street residence. Upon arrival, they spoke with an 18-year-old woman, who was home alone at the time of the incident.
According to the victim, three men dressed in ski masks and hooded sweatshirts broke in through the front door. The victim fled to the kitchen, where the suspects instructed her to lay on the floor while they searched the home.
The suspects took an unspecified amount of goods from the home.
The suspects then allegedly fled the home in a gold or tan SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, driven by a fourth suspect.
The suspect descriptions are as follows:
- Suspects 1 and 2 were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, white ski masks, and black gloves.
- Suspect 3 was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, and a ski mask.
- Driver of the vehicle – Suspect 4 – was wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, and red baseball cap.
All three who entered the home were described as having Spanish accents.
The incident is under investigation by the Methuen Police Department.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or who has information on the incident is asked to call the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8698.
