Woburn and Stoneham Police Looking for Public’s Assistance in Identifying Robbery Suspect
WOBURN – Woburn Police Chief Robert Ferullo and Stoneham Police Chief James McIntyre report that police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in multiple robberies and attempted robberies that occurred in four different communities this week.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, at approximately 9:03 p.m., Stoneham Police responded to a panic alarm at the Spot Pond Mobil gas station, 2 South St.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the store, demanding money from the clerk while holding a sharp object that police believe to be either a knife or a screwdriver. The clerk was able to push the panic alarm and the suspect fled the store with nothing.
Then, on Dec. 9, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Woburn Police responded to the BP gas station at 325 Washington St. for a report of an attempted armed robbery.
Upon arrival, police learned that a man entered the convenience store and threatened the cashier with a knife before fleeing the store with nothing in a gray/silver Toyota Corolla.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and an obvious limp. In the surveillance video from the BP convenience store, he was seen wearing glasses, a blue coat, hat and sweatpants.
Additionally, police believe the suspect is connected to armed robberies that occurred in stores on Dec. 9 in Somerville, at approximately 6:45 a.m., and Lynnfield, just before noon. The man is also believed to be connected to an armed robbery that occurred at the Speedway convenience store, 306 Montvale Ave. in Woburn on Dec. 5.
These incidents remain under investigation by the Woburn, Stoneham, Lynnfield, Somerville and Boston Police Departments.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the video, or has information about any of the incidents, is asked to contact Woburn Detective James Flynn at 781-933-1212 ext. 845, or jflynn@woburnpd.com
