BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a bank in town this afternoon.

On Monday, Nov. 7, at approximately 1 p.m., Burlington Police responded to a reported robbery at the Salem Five Bank, 36 Cambridge St.

Police learned that the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding cash. No weapon was shown. The man then fled on foot toward the Crossroads Plaza with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as approximately 6-feet 1-inch tall, who was wearing a green baseball cap and who has scruffy facial hair.

Burlington Police, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit, conducted an extensive search of the area, but were not able to locate the suspect.

The incident remains under investigation by Burlington Detectives and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force at 857-386-2000 or Burlington Police at 781-272-1212.
