Natick Police Cite Man for Driving in Former Unmarked Police Car
NATICK — Chief James G. Hicks reports that the Natick Police Department arrested a man on a warrant over the weekend and later cited him for Unlawful Display of Blue Lights on a Vehicle and another civil violation.
JEFFREY M. SVENDBYE, AGE 32, OF FRAMINGHAM was arrested on a warrant. He was also cited for Unlawful Display of Blue Lights on a Vehicle and Missing Front Registration Plate.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, at approximately 5:30 p.m., an officer on patrol was driving behind a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria on Speen Street when he noticed the vehicle had mounted low profile police lights in its rear window. It also had several antennas on its roof and a “police interceptor” emblem affixed on the car.
The license plate came back registered to SVENDBYE, who had an active default warrant out of Framingham District Court. The officer then conducted a motor vehicle stop.
SVENDBYE was operating the car and stated he had purchased the vehicle from a Massachusetts State Police auction, which occurred in July.
The officer then informed SVENDBYE of his warrant and placed him under arrest.
Inside the vehicle was a former state police lieutenant badge, which was placed in evidence.
SVENDBYE was held at the Natick Police Department pending his arraignment.
The Natick Police Department continues to investigate if there have been any other incidents in the area that may have involved this vehicle.
