Randolph Police Charge Two, Seize 1.5 Kilograms of Heroin and Cocaine
RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department arrested a man last week and is charging another on drug related charges after seizing 1 1/2 kilograms of cocaine and heroin from two apartments and several vehicles last week.
JIUBER ORISTEL SOTO, AGE 19, OF RANDOLPH is charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act.
Additionally, an arrest warrant was filed yesterday for EBER JOSIAS SOTO-GOMEZ, AGE 32, OF RANDOLPH, who is charged with:
- Trafficking a Class A Substance (Heroin)
- Trafficking a Class B Substance (Cocaine)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A and Class B
- Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act
SOTO-GOMEZ is currently being held at South Bay House of Correction on unrelated charges.
On Aug. 25, just after midnight, Randolph Detectives Richard Brewer and Paul Smyth, with assistance from Braintree Police and the South Shore Drug Task Force, served several search warrants at the Avalon Drive apartments.
Police obtained search warrants for two apartments in the complex and multiple vehicles. In total, police seized 1 1/2 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, more than $31,000 in cash, drug packaging, scales and other related evidence. SOTO, who was home when the search warrants were executed, was arrested.
The arrest and charges are a culmination of a three-week investigation into illicit drug distribution at the Avalon Drive apartments.
“I commend Detectives Brewer and Smyth for their diligent work during this investigation and thank the Braintree Police Department and the South Shore Drug Task Force for their assistance,” Chief Pace said. “We will continue to investigate and charge those involved in illegal drug activity.”
