UPDATE: Medical Examiner’s Office Releases Report of Death of Man in Bridgewater Swimming Pool

BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte and the Bridgewater Police Department seek to update the public on the investigation into the death of a man who was found unresponsive in a swimming pool on Sunday.

The State Medical Examiner has released the death certificate of the 73-year-old victim. The Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be blunt trauma to the neck and that the manner of death was accidental.

Bridgewater Police and Fire responded at 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 14 to a home on Mary Lane. Upon arrival, family members were performing CPR on the victim.

The man was transported by ambulance to Brockton Hospital and then transferred to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter, where he later died.
