Bedford Police Respond to Serious Motor Vehicle Crash

Passenger Dies, Driver Charged with Homicide After Serious Motor Vehicle Crash
BEDFORD, N.H. — Police Chief John Bryfonski reports that one of the passengers in a vehicle that crashed into a utility pole and then flipped over a residential fence before ending upside down in a front lawn on Friday has died. The driver, who was allegedly drunk, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and negligent homicide.
As a result of a Bedford Police Department investigation, DENG M. CHOL MABOR, AGE 39, OF MANCHESTER was placed in custody in his bed at Elliot Hospital and has been charged with:
- Aggravated Driving while Intoxicated (Alcohol)
- Reckless Conduct/Putting a Person in Danger
- Negligent Homicide – Negligent Driving of a Motor Vehicle
All charges are felonies. CHOL MABOR was admitted to the Elliot hospital with shoulder, arm and neck injuries and remained there until late Sunday morning. He was released from the hospital and was transported to the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester on $250,000 cash bail pending arraignment at the Merrimack District Court on Monday morning
The two passengers were also taken to Elliot Hospital. One of them, identified as Thon A. Kuai, a 36-year-old man from Manchester, died over the weekend. A third occupant, a 24-year-old Manchester woman, was treated and released.
Police, fire, and EMS responded to the area of 366 South River Road at 2:45 p.m. Friday for a reported motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, first responders an expansive and very difficult scene.
Police determined that a Nissan Altima, allegedly driven by CHOL MABOR struck a utility pole at a high rate of speed and then went airborne, clearing a fence and flipping over.
The incident remains under investigation
