Arlington Police Cite Driver Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Crash
Arlington — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department has cited the female driver involved in a 2015 fatal traffic incident involving a pedestrian.
A 61-year-old Woburn woman is cited with:
- Motor Vehicle Homicide by Negligent Operation
- Failure to Stop for a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk
She will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court at a later date.
On March 23, 2015, shortly after 11 a.m., Arlington Police and Fire responded to the area of 134 Massachusetts Ave. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
Upon arrival, rescuers located the victim, a 91-year-old Arlington man, who had very serious injuries. He was taken to an area hospital by Arlington Fire/Rescue, where he was pronounced dead. An investigation determined that the victim was walking in a crosswalk when he was struck.
Arlington Officer Joseph Dunn was the investigating officer during the incident and was assisted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
The driver’s identity will be released during arraignment.
