Bedford Police Arrest Man on Felony Drug Charges
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department arrested a man on both felony and misdemeanor drug charges last night after officers executed a search warrant of his vehicle.
WILLIAM TOON, AGE 20, OF WILTON, N.H. was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Controlled / Narcotic Drugs (Felony)
- Possession of Controlled / Narcotic Drugs (Misdemeanor)
- Possession of Controlled / Narcotic Drugs with Intent to Distribute (Felony)
- Possession of Controlled / Narcotic Drugs in Motor Vehicle (Misdemeanor)
On Saturday, June 11, Bedford Police responded to a single car motor vehicle crash on Route 101. Upon arrival, police found that TOON, the vehicle’s operator, had driven his vehicle off the road into a pole and believed him to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. After an investigation at the scene, TOON was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and possession of drugs. TOON was released on the above charges on $4,000 personal recognizance bail.
While on scene, officers believed TOON’s vehicle contained additional drug paraphernalia and other related items. Police impounded the vehicle and applied for a search warrant, which was later granted.
Bedford Police conducted a thorough search of TOON’S vehicle. As a result of the search, the department issued a warrant for his arrest on the charges listed above.
On June 28, TOON was arrested by the Wilton, N.H. Police Department and transferred to Bedford for booking at approximately 7 p.m.
TOON was held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on $5,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at Merrimack District Court.
