Arlington Police Arrest Man After Child Pornography Investigation
ARLINGTON — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department, after an investigation conducted between Arlington Police Detectives and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, arrested a man and charged him with possessing and distributing child pornography.
As a result of the investigation and diligent police work, MASON LISTER, AGE 21, OF ARLINGTON was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Visual Material of a Child in the State of Nudity or Sexual Conduct
- Distribution of Visual Material of a Child in the State of Nudity or Sexual Conduct
LISTER was arrested after police developed intelligence that he was allegedly trading obscene images of children via social media channels, including DropBox, Kik and Twitter. Police also seized a computer and tablet from LISTER’S home.
Chief Ryan praised the officers involved in the investigation, especially Arlington Police Inspector James Smith, who is assigned to the FBI task force.
“The exploitation and abuse of children are among the worst crimes in our society, but thanks to the talented detective work of our officers, including Inspector Smith, we are able to identify and prosecute those who contribute to the proliferation of child pornography,” Chief Ryan said. “The Arlington Police Department will continue to pursue these felons aggressively wherever they may be.”
LISTER was held at the Arlington Police Department pending his arraignment at Cambridge District Court.
