LAWRENCE — The Psychological Center, Inc. (TPC) is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a $1,500 grant from the Northeast Association of Realtors (NERA) to benefit programs for the homeless and recovery programs at the Daybreak Shelter.
Along with other members of NERA, realtor Lynne Shattuck presented the check to Andrew McMahon, Program Director for Daybreak Shelter, during a small gathering at the shelter in Lawrence on Friday, June 3 at 1 p.m.
“We are continuously humbled by the generosity of organizations like the Northeast Association of Realtors, who has supported us in numerous ways over the last year,” said Carina Pappalardo, CEO of The Psychological Center. “This money will go a long way to help many of our guests overcome their struggles and begin new, meaningful lives.”
Earlier this year, NERA sponsored Daybreak’s application for the grant, which was submitted to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. The funds from this grant will be used to support the ongoing improvements that TPC is working on at the Daybreak Shelter.
Currently, the shelter provides guests with a meal for both breakfast and dinner, a hot shower, and on site services such as a health clinic, paralegal services, HIV/HEPC education and testing and referrals, along with a domestic violence specialist. Daybreak Shelter can accommodate up to 50 guests and most months, they serve at least 1,500 meals.
