Paraben Announces Release of DS 7.5, Newest Version of its “Device Seizure” Forensic Software
Software Offers New Support for Drone Data
ASHBURN, Va. — Paraben Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of its newest mobile forensics software, Device Seizure (DS) 7.5, with added and updated features.
DS is designed to serve as the central platform for law enforcement, government, and private security organizations conducting forensic investigations into smart phones, tablets, and other mobile devices.
Unlike any other mobile forensics software on the market, DS 7.5 now offers support for drone data, including the DJI GoPro Drone app on iOS devices.
The newest version of DS captures even more data on Androids by acquiring the Android backup data during logical acquisition of Android devices. This allows users to acquire a part of the file system on devices running Android OS 4.0 and higher. DS 7.5 has also added new app support including parsing of Tinder and Snapchat application data for Android devices, as well as parsing of Tinder and Yik Yak application data for iOS devices.
“Paraben has proven itself to be an industry leader in providing innovative solutions to digital investigative problems by keeping up with technology trends,” said Paraben CEO Amber Schroader. “We have added new key features with this new DS release including the ability to parse data from popular apps like Tinder and Snapchat.”
DS 7.5 has improved the speed of acquisition of Android and iOS devices which is now performed up to three times faster, and the acquisitions of jailbroken iOS devices is performed up to 11 times faster. Parsing of Safari browser data for iOS has also been improved.
In this latest version, possible problems with the generation of PDF Investigative, HTML Investigative and HTML Timeline reports have been solved, and the performance of search, navigation in search results, and overall stability have all been improved.
Key features of DS 7.5 include more than 50 plug-ins that work with more than 25 types of devices, device autodetection during acquisition, support of more than 12,000 device profiles, deleted data recovery on all types of devices, and a database driven case format to secure data storage and large volume storage.
Paraben’s DS software has the ability to acquire devices both logically and physically, and includes password bypassing as well as file system extractions, all within a single easy-to-use tool and single case.
