Tyngsborough Police and Fire Departments Respond to House Fire that Left Three Displaced

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-alarm house fire this afternoon that left three people displaced.

Police and Fire were dispatched to a home on 57 Mascuppic Trail at 1:30 p.m. The Dracut, Lowell, Chelmsford, Westford and Nashua Fire Departments were called to the scene for assistance and to cover the Tyngsborough fire station.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and cleared the scene by 6 p.m. No one was injured.

The home is heavily damaged and the three occupants are not able to return. The Red Cross arrived to offer assistance. The building commissioner was on scene, but there is no estimate regarding the extent of the damages at this time.

Chief Howe commends the work of the police and fire departments for their quick response and thanks the neighboring fire departments for their assistance today.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
