Dedham Police Investigating Several Instances of Overnight Graffiti Tagging
DEDHAM — Chief Michael d’Entremont reports that the Dedham Police Department is investigating six instances of derogatory graffiti tagging overnight, and police are asking anyone who lives in or was passing through the affected areas to please call them with any information on who may be responsible.
Police were notified this morning that two fences, two roads, one driveway and a bulkhead at a new construction site were defaced last night.
Five swastikas were drawn and other comments were written in neighborhoods around town, including two in Endicott, two in Riverdale, one in Oakdale and one in Greenlodge.
“While we do not believe that any specific person or family was targeted, ignorance is no defense. Swastikas represent hate and bigotry, and we are aggressively pursuing those responsible,” Chief d’Entremont said. “We will not tolerate this in our community.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Dedham Police Department at 781-326-1212.
