Methuen Police Officers to Compete in Taco Eating Contest for Charity
METHUEN — Chief Joseph Solomon is pleased to announce that multiple officers from the Methuen Police Department will participate in a taco eating contest to raise money for charity on
Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. at Margarita’s Restaurant at The Loop, 90 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
“As a department, we are always looking for different opportunities to volunteer and help out the community wherever we can,” Chief Solomon said. “This is certainly a unique event and a really fun way for us to raise money for a good cause.”
The Methuen Police Department was challenged by the Methuen Fire Department to participate in the competition. The winner will receive $250 donated to the charity of their choice and a “Taco Bar” delivered to the station. Losers will receive $100 donated to the charity of their choice.
Participating officers from the Methuen Police Department will be donating all of the money they raise to Cops for Kids With Cancer.
Those who would like to attend the event but not wishing to participate are welcome to come down and support their local officers.
