North Reading Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Shooting Vehicle with Arrow
NORTH READING — Police Chief Michael P. Murphy reports that the North Reading Police Department last evening arrested a man for allegedly shooting a vehicle, driven by a 16-year-old resident, with an arrow.
As a result of a North Reading Police Department investigation, PETER WALK, AGE 54, OF NORTH READING was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
Police were called to an address on Strawberry Lane at 10:45 p.m. Friday where they were met by the driver of a black Ford pickup truck who reported that while he was driving, someone shot the vehicle with an arrow, striking and flattening a tire.
Police investigated and questioned several people before locating WALK who, the investigation indicated, allegedly used a compound bow to shoot the truck with a arrow. WALK then allegedly assaulted the driver.
The incident remains under investigation by the North Reading Police Department. There is no word on a possible motive for the assault.
WALK will be arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
