Boxborough Police Sergeant Completes Advanced FBI Training
Sergeant O’Brien Receives Award After Completing Trilogy of FBI Law Enforcement Courses Successfully
BOXBOROUGH – Police Chief Warren Ryder is pleased to report that Boxborough Police Sergeant Warren J. O’Brien recently received the FBI/Leeda Trilogy Award for successfully completing three advanced law enforcement training courses.
“The Boxborough Police Department is a modern and progressive public safety agency, and training courses like this represent the collective best practices in policing nationwide,” said Chief Ryder. “I am very pleased that Sergeant O’Brien has taken the initiative to learn from the best and improve the quality of service we provide to the community.”
The FBI/Leeda Trilogy Award is given to a law enforcement professional who successfully completes the FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute and Executive Leadership Institute:
Supervisor Leadership Institute
The FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute is a cutting edge 4 1/2-day program built especially for first-line supervisors and middle managers with the goal of enhancing their leadership competencies. The Supervisor Leadership Institute faculty members are senior law enforcement leaders who are committed to passing on their lessons learned.
Attendees will be engaged in personality diagnostics, leadership case studies, mentoring, developing your people, performance management, risk management and credibility. This institute is student-centered and rich in facilitated dialogue and group work.
Command Leadership Institute
The FBI-LEEDA Command Leadership Institute is a dynamic, intensive and challenging 4 1/2-day program specifically and uniquely designed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command level positions.
The Command Leadership Institute’s focus is to provide real life contemporary, best-practice strategies and techniques for those aspiring to command level assignments. Command Institute faculty members are passionate instructors who have executive level law enforcement and leadership experience.
Command Leadership Institute students will be engaged in such topics as credibility, command discipline and liability, dealing with problem employees, and leading change within an organization.. The Command Leadership Institute is student-centered with a high degree of student involvement.
Executive Leadership Institute
This innovative 3 1/2- day program is designed for senior law enforcement executives and focuses on the emerging challenges facing our profession. This highly interactive program follows the FBI-LEEDA “Cops Talking to Cops” model of professional development. The seminar uses a wide range of source material and calls upon the participants’ professional experience to facilitate individual development and enrich the learning environment. The course first looks inward to identify the forces of change and emerging trends within the law enforcement community, such as the challenges of merging the perspectives of Traditionalist, Baby Boomer, Generation X and Millennial employees and presents leadership strategies to manage and adapt to the future conditions.
