Winchester Police Heroin Investigations Result in Charges Against Seven

Two Investigations with Regional Drug Tasks Force

Aggressive Police Work Aimed at Keeping Drug Traffickers and Suppliers Out of Community

WINCHESTER — Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli is pleased to report that a pair of sweeping investigations targeting the source and supply of heroin and opioids in this community have resulted recently in charges filed against seven alleged drug dealers.

Winchester Police Detectives and officers from the Winchester Police Department and other communities assigned to the  Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force began investigations last month into the sale and distribution of narcotics in Winchester.

As a result of the first investigation, culminating on March 18:

  • RONEY CABRERA GOMEZ, AGE 29, and JUAN C. GOMEZ-TATIS, AGE 28, BOTH OF LYNN wer earrested and charged with Distribution of a Class-A Narcotic (heroin) and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law.

As a result of the second investigation, culminating on March 31:

  • ANTHONY CATINAZZO, AGE 35, OF WOBURN  was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class-A Narcotic (Heroin), Distribution of a Class-B Narcotic (Cocaine),  and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law..
  • THOMAS C. DONAGHEY, AGE 29, OF WOBURN was charged with Possession of a Class-A Narcotic (Heroin), Possession of a Class-B Narcotic (Cocaine),  and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law and will be summonsed to court at a late date.
  • JOSALYNE M. RESENDES AGE 24, OF WILMINGTON was charged with Possession of a Class-A Narcotic (Heroin), Possession of a Class-B Narcotic (Cocaine),  and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law and will be summonsed to court at a late date.
  • YOLAINY PEREZ DE LOS SANTOS, AGE 20, OF LAWRENCE was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class-A Narcotic (Heroin), Distribution of a Class-B Narcotic (Cocaine),  and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.
  • And YOSUE MIGUGI CRESPO, AGE 30, OF LAWRENCE was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class-A Narcotic (Heroin), Distribution of a Class-B Narcotic (Cocaine),  and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.

The investigations included surveillance operations at various addresses, including a local store, and controlled drug purchases. The surveillance quickly showed that individuals known to police, including CATINAZZO and CRESPO were engaged in the drug trade from the parking lot of the store.

CRESPO is a repeat offender and was out on bail for Cocaine Distribution when the same Middlesex County Task Force arrested him in Wakefield in early March.

“Investigations like this show how far we are willing to go and how aggressive our detectives will work toward rooting out the source of heroin and other dangerous drugs in our town,” Chief Albertelli said. “The Winchester Police Department will continue to work with our neighbors and county resources to find and eliminate those who seek to peddle poison in our communities. I commend all of the officers involved in these investigations.”
