SUDBURY — Fire Chief William Miles reports that workers are on scene this morning on Horse Pond Road in town, fixing damage to the roadway after a water main leak overnight.
The Sudbury Fire Department, Police Department, and the Department of Public Works were called out around 12:30 a.m. Friday. The Water Department was notified after crews found a leak in an 8″ water main, which caused a partial collapse and washout of the road.
The Water Department was on scene at 1:22 a.m., and National Grid arrived at 1:33 to tend to a pre-existing open air gas leak, that will also be repaired.
A portion of Horse Pond Road in Sudbury is closed during the roadwork, and about 10 homes will be without water until work is finished.
Water in Sudbury remains safe for all uses.
