I first encountered Plymouth Winery in 2007, as a news reporter, when I visited the three wineries in Plymouth and spent the day sampling their varietals and buying bottles to take home and enjoy later. I wrote a story comparing the three wineries, and noted the differences between them — including how much they gave out in the tasting room, how friendly the service was, how good the wine tasted, and what else the winery had to offer.
Plymouth Winery was the winner of the day. I eventually became friends with owner and winemaker Linda Shumway. I wrote about her again and several other businesses in Plymouth in 2009, as the town sought to rebound during the recession.
Linda makes good wine, but she, like most small business owners, is no webmaster. Plymouth Winery had the same old, Microsoft Frontpage website online at PlymouthWinery.com for almost 10 years.
With the launch of JGPR, and its web design wing, I called Linda and told her I was making her a new website for free. Check out the result!
The new website is built on WordPress, using responsive design/HTML5 technology that makes the website function on computer screens, smartphones, and tablets all the same. It also includes a news blog so that Linda can post regular updates for her customers quickly and seamlessly.
Special thanks to Nic Czarnecki for doing a great job on the photography!
