Arlington Police Chief Named To State Commission
ARLINGTON — The Arlington Police Department is pleased to announce that Chief Frederick Ryan has been named to the state’s Harm Reduction Commission.
The commission, which was created in August, is charged with reviewing and making recommendations regarding harm reduction opportunities to address substance use disorder. It is comprised of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, who chairs the commission, and a diverse panel of policymakers, public health professionals, legal scholars, clinicians and local residents.
“I’m looking forward to working with the commission to continue the important work being done throughout the commonwealth to curtail substance use and addiction,” Chief Ryan said. “We’re continuing to make great strides in addressing the addiction crisis here in Massachusetts, and I’m confident that this group will enhance and build upon that effort.”
Chief Ryan will be sworn in tomorrow at the State House.
