Pop Warner Cheerleaders to Support Holbrook Police Pink Patch Project
HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith and the Holbrook Patrolmen’s Association (HPA) Local 88 are pleased to announce that Holbrook Police officers will be teaming up with local Pop Warner cheerleaders to raise money for breast cancer awareness this month.
Throughout the month of October, the Holbrook/Randolph Pop Warner football cheerleaders will be wearing special sweaters with pink Holbrook Police and Randolph Police patches on each sleeve.
The cheerleaders will also conduct routines and cheers throughout the October football games in support of the police departments and the Pink Patch Project.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Holbrook Police officers will have the option to wear the pink patches in order to show support for all those who have battled – or still are battling — breast cancer.
The pink patches were purchased by the HPA and the funds raised by selling them will go toward various charitable efforts taken on by the union. In addition, the HPA sponsored Chief Smith’s participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sept. 23.
Anyone who would like to purchase a pink Holbrook Police patch can do so by stopping by the Holbrook Public Safety building, 300 South Franklin St. The patches are $10 each.
“We are so thankful to the cheerleaders and Pop Warner for their support,” Chief Smith said. “Breast cancer hits close to home for a lot of people and it has impacted many lives. Anything we can do to raise awareness and money to help find a cure is something the members of our department look forward to each year.”
