Memorial Park School in Rockland to Host STEM Fair for Students
ROCKLAND — Principal Janice Sheehan is pleased to announce that the Memorial Park School will partner with Boston Cares and EMD Serono to host a STEM Fair next month for students.
On June 13, the Rockland office of EMD Serono — an international company that works to advance science to treat conditions like cancer — will send a number of its employees to the Memorial Park School for various volunteer activities.
EMD Serono employees will join students in the school’s gymnasium for the Boston Cares STEM Fair, which provides participants with 40-60 minutes of experiments and projects that incorporate and support the Massachusetts educational frameworks for science, technology, engineering and math.
In addition, EMD Serono volunteers will focus on brightening up the playground area of the Memorial Park School with painted pavement games and constructed garden beds for the school’s outdoor classroom.
“We’re so grateful to EMD Serono and Boston Cares for working with Memorial Park to bring STEM activities to our students and increase play space outside,” Principal Sheehan said. “The STEM Fair will be a great complement to further exploratory lessons learned in classroom.”
