Great Barrington Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested after Second Bank Robbery in Connecticut
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. and CANAAN, Conn. — Great Barrington Police Chief William Walsh reports that the suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Great Barrington and a second person have been arrested after a second bank robbery in Connecticut.
Connecticut State Police informed Great Barrington Police that ERIC JAMES SHERIDAN, AGE 36, OF DANIELSON, CONN. and a companion, RACHELLE WINTER, AGE 30, OF EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., were arrested after a bank robbery in Falls Village, part of the Town of Canaan.
Both suspects are being treated at a Sharon, Conn. hospital for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash. They were injured after the same red 2014 Fiat 500 seen fleeing Monday’s bank robbery in Great Barrington crashed into a tree shortly after the Falls Village robbery on Wednesday.
SHERIDAN is wanted for Unarmed Robbery and Larceny Over $250 in Great Barrington. Both also will face charges in Connecticut. WINTER may also face charges in connection with the Great Barrington robbery, which remains under investigation.
On Monday, Feb. 13, Great Barrington Police responded to the Salisbury Bank & Trust Company on Main Street for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male suspect, allegedly SHERIDAN, entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. SHERIDAN then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a red 2014 Fiat 500 with Rhode Island license plates.
